Dr. Zain Abideen is a highly experienced academic and supply chain professional with over a decade of expertise in logistics, operations management, and sustainable supply chain systems. He is currently serving as a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Sustainable Supply Chain and Analytics at the Faculty of Transportation and Logistics, Muscat University, where he delivers advanced teaching and applied learning in logistics, analytics, and supply chain transformation aligned with industry needs in Oman and the wider GCC region. Dr. Zain has built a strong regional and international academic portfolio across Oman, Malaysia, and India, having previously served as Senior Lecturer in the Business Engineering Cluster at Universiti Malaysia Pahang, as well as Post-Doctoral Associate at UiTM Malaysia and Research Associate with the Malaysian Institute for Supply Chain and Innovation under the MIT Global Scale Network for Logistics. He has also supervised MBA theses at Liverpool John Moores University, reflecting his capability in mentoring postgraduate professionals and linking academic frameworks with real-world supply chain challenges. His core expertise lies in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Strategy, Lean Operations, Industrial Systems Engineering, Process Optimization, and Digital Supply Chain Transformation, including Industry 4.0 applications such as simulation, analytics, and smart logistics systems. He is particularly recognized for translating complex supply chain theories into practical, industry-relevant training content, making him well-positioned to develop and deliver executive and professional development programs. With a strong research and applied teaching background, Dr. Zain has contributed extensively to advancing knowledge in sustainable logistics, supply chain resilience, and operational efficiency. His ability to integrate academic rigor with practical logistics challenges makes him highly suitable as a trainer for the Oman Logistics Academy, where he can support the development of future logistics professionals, enhance national supply chain capabilities, and contribute to building a competitive and sustainable logistics workforce in Oman.
